To our Papa

Dear Papa,

I am a very curious person,
Taste-tested mothballs,
Explored unknown territory,
All before I was three.

To you we call “Papa”,
I ask all the questions I think,
When I wondered what clouds are,
And why the moon tags along.

From toddler to adulthood,
All my questions you answered,
How a variety of things work,
And why people are like so.

You correct me when I’m wrong,
You chide me when I falter,
Even if you wish we were grander,
We will ask for no other.

I love you, Papa,
You are my hero, you are my roof,
You let us go our own paths,
But you will always be our home.
