The Witch of the Tree

Let me live in a tower in a forest,
Where you picked me up and tugged my hand,
When you told me of magic and things I can do,
The things you taught me and things you knew.

Lend me your books and your tongue,
Lend me your time and your patience,
We have never been here before,
Let this be a slow journey.

Don’t let this end, don’t let this fade,
You have taught me and we both shared,
Secrets you told me, and the hurt you hide,
The wishes I’ve kept, and hopes I shattered.

Show me your magic and I’ll share mine,
We will fill this tower with warmth and light,
Or we can hide in the forest in the guise of night,
But we will be together, you and I.
